Hi sorry to jump on your post but I have received a letter from Resolvecall regarding an old (7 1/2 years) ccj saying they will come round to the door. I received a letter from Cabot last year regarding this and wrote back asking for info but never got a reply. The letter doesn’t mention ccj just a debt for £10,000 which they say can affect my credit rating (it won’t, it’s already dropped off my credit file). Is it possible that Cabot bought this debt not knowing that it was a CCJ in which case I could send them a statue barred letter? Or what would you suggest. I’ve never hidden from this debt although I have moved house and my addresses are clearly linked on my credit report. I tried to sort it at the time with the original lender but they refused to help me and I ended up being signed off work for some time with depression due to other serious issues going on at that time. What do you think my next move should be? Appreciate the help!

Okay. Resolve Call are basically a tracing company who contact debtors to try and encourage contact again with the claimant/debt owner.
Do you recall what the terms of the Judgment order were ? Was it a forthwith order and they simply haven't bothered to enforce it until now?
Do you have evidence of the CCJ that was awarded 7 odd years ago ? Who was the claimant ?
Presumably the Judgment has fallen off of the register already.
When you wrote back to Cabot last year asking for more info - was that off the back of a letter they'd sent to your new address, or have you moved again since then?#staysafestayhome
Any support I provide is offered without liability, if you are unsure please seek professional legal guidance.

Amethyst I don't have any details of what the judgement order was unfortunately and the only evidence I had that the CCJ was awarded was on my credit file but it has dropped off now, it was Bluestone Credit Management but the original loan was with Santander. I wrote back to Cabot last year from my current address but didn't receive a replyLast edited by Monjoli2003; 17th January 2019, 11:25:AM.
