Thanks Nemesis, I'll get both letters sent first thing tomorrow!

Is it worth calling the court to see if Lowell paid the court fees? They were due on the 17th

              Hearing day today!

How do I find out the result as I couldn't attend the hearing? Do I have to wait for them to send me a letter?

You can phone the court either tomorrow or Wednesday to allow the court office to catch up.
I hope it goes your way.

I just called the court office and they said it had been adjourned, she said I will receive a letter in the post explaining why.

Any idea why it would be adjourned? This has been dragging on for 6 months already!

                    Adjourned or stayed?

(Many cases are stayed due to lack of documentation disclosure by the claimant)

                      She definitely said adjourned.

I haven't received any documents or even a letter from the claimant so I was expecting her to say stayed

Mmm maybe adjourned if the claimants also informed the court they wouldn't be attending - they could also have applied to the court for an adjournment to give them more time to find the documents. Just a case of wait and see for the moment I'm afraid, frustrating as it is.

                          Latest update!

The case was adjourned to give the claiment more time to come up with the documents I requested. Unfortunately for me they did come up with them and the hearing took place on the 16th August in which I lost the case.

I still haven't heard from the courts 2 weeks after the hearing about what to do next. I would like to pay the money owed to avoid having a ccj against me, when do the 30 days start to count down? From the day of the judgement or from when they send the letter to me?

                          Thanks for all your help

Oh no, so sorry to hear that. Presumably there were no issues with the documentation to argue.

It is 28 days from the date of judgment so it is worth giving the claimant a call and making your offer to pay to ensure the judgment isn't registered. Explain you haven't yet had documentation from the court confirming the judgment amount and that you want to get it settled before it's registered and I'm sure they will fall over themselves to help. Also ask them that once paid they inform the court it has all been settled.
