    Thanks for the reply Sharon. The claimants certainly haven't been in touch yet. What is a strike out though? Have to phone tomorrow now as my grandson will be here soon. Will have a look at Stepchange or National Debtline later today. xx

      A strike out application asks the court to strike the claimants case out completely which brings the action to an end.

        Well I hope that is the case considering he has been out of a job since 5th December and we have been paying his direct debits and our own and we are state pensioners, but we'll see. They were originally given the opportunity to have this paid through a DMP but did nothing about it and even left it years. Not as much in need as we are I think. :tinysmile_hmm_t2:

        NOTE: If you receive a court claim note these dates in your calendar ...
        Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

        Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

        If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
