Make some notes to read off or jog your memory. They'd rather have a lump sum now then a low monthly figure. Also they bought the debt for 'pennies', so they won't lose out. Negotiate hard.

Hey echat11! So an update here. I had the mediation call this morning i offered to settle the payment with a one off of £473 they declined this and the lowest they would drop too was £1000 one off to settle the payment. I had them to cancel the added charges due to them sending mail to the wrong address and me not having view of this and knocked £200 off the settlement. I advised i would be happy to set up a payment plan to clear the debt and they have agreed to this which is all i wanted in the first place. Im glad this is off my plate now and i can make the payments to get rid of the balance. One thing i completely forgot to ask but presume as we have reached an agreement this means i wont have a ccj registered against me am i correct in thinking this? i should have asked but was in a panic and forgot. I just want to say thankyou so so much for all of your help i honestly wouldn't have been able to do this without your help and support and i massively appreciate it! THANKYOU.

100%, they've agreed to settle the matter, there is no need for them to do anything. You'll get a letter confirming the arrangement from them. If you get any issues, just update the thread.
No problem, I'm glad it's worked out for you.
