How do you mean, sorry if I sound thick! So some of it I'm going to be denying, charges they kept adding when I told them I was out of work and they didn't freeze for example

Listen, paperwork will show there was a claimant/customer business, so a denial would be against the truth (you would lose on that point), the charges they made whilst you were having trouble (they failed to act to assist you (which they can) (I know too well happened to me).

only have to not panic as many cases obvious ( lay person mistake)/ Regarding the charges is not the issue overall (but in later procedure you can incorporate
the fact you request assistance by them which was ignored (i.e.:- the witness statement in the proceeding courts go through) so keep us up dated any further mail from courts or them.

loojk around the site as you will find the procedures courts etc use.

Still no reply on MCOL, today is 28 days since I submitted, tomorrow will be when they received it.

I had a letter from overdales offering mediation and said I'd hear from the court about a directions questionnaire?! I've not heard anything and I've not spoken to anyone

the court will send you (bit behind due to COVID) you will also state mediation when you get yours from courts, just follow court instructions.
