Received a letter from county court regarding an unpaid private parking ticket from May 2017. I never paid the ticket as it was a private parking and assumed they would never follow up. I was wondering if I could get any advice on whether I have grounds to defend the claim as they are now asking for £235. I still have some of the letters they sent me from a couple years ago. Any help and advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

If it's a claim form then after day 5 acknowledge using the details and password on the form, nothing in the defence. This gives you 33 days from the date of issue to get your defence to the court.
SAR to the parking company, letter to the solicitor requesting copies of all the documents they intend to use in court, as expected by the courts, in order to narrow the issues between you. You expect this by return and in any case within 7 days..
Post up a redacted copy of the original NTK, suitably redacted.

Thanks for the response. I filled in the form and acknowledged the claim a couple weeks ago and unfortunately there has been a few "distractions" recently so the claim has slipped my mind. I fear I may have left this too late. Please can you explain SAR. Many thanks.Originally posted by ostell View PostIf it's a claim form then after day 5 acknowledge using the details and password on the form, nothing in the defence. Date of issue was 11th of March, I acknowledged on the 12th.... feel free to call me an idiot.... many thanks again*Originally posted by ostell View PostSo what is the date of issue on the form? If you miss sending the defence then if they are alert you may have a default judgement against you.

Do these need to be posted physically or can they be emailed?Originally posted by ostell View PostIf it's a claim form then after day 5 acknowledge using the details and password on the form, nothing in the defence. This gives you 33 days from the date of issue to get your defence to the court.
