Just wondering if anyone can help? I have received four letters from the bailiff enforcement team for child support. I am not on the birth certificate and have not seen the child in question for the whole of the 17 years. How do I stand about not paying it?

Never had a DNA, never had contact, there is a possibility the child could be mine. I'm not saying I wouldn't pay. The bailiff marstons group have declined my offer and are threatening removal of goods, suspension of my driving licence and prison, can they do this?

They may suspend action whilst you get a DNA test done.

You will have to pay for it & it is about £250-£300. You get the money back if its not your child.

Otherwise there is not a lot you can do & they can do whatever they stated. Prison would be a last resort.

You need to get that DNA test done. Why would you even entertain the possibility of paying all these arrears if you are not related?

I take it you are self-employed because if you were employed they would have attached it for deductions by your employer already.

You could write to the CSA & get your file to check the sums are in order but really do not think there is much else you can do.
