I have just received a letter saying I have 14 days to make an arrangement with Lo well or the will take me to court. They have only just bought a bent from Morris at the start of Sept. Can they do this?

Yes, if Lowell have purchased ( assigned) a debt from a creditor they can take legal action to recover the debt. Can you tell us a bit more about the original debt / any dispute ?

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service
Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)
If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
