I need a bit of advice on 4 credit cards my husband has, these have crept up and up to a point we just cannot afford them, we have tried to pay these for as long as possible but feel we are in a big hole! We have spoken to one credit card who agreed to a reduced payment and at the moment we are talking to the others who are very helpful and working with us.

My worry is is a letter from first credit card about a default notice if we don’t pay £1,300 in a weeks time! That’s impossible, I know this will ruin credit rating but to be honest that’s not my worry, they are unsecured debts but we have a mortgage, we can afford our mortgage and lower debt payments so that’s ok. Please can anyone just advise on what’s the best thing to do, kind of need a bit of reassurance as feeling stressed. Thanks

they will default but that will show on credit file for 6 years England/wales 5 years scotland, not to worry at this stage, 1st credit are one of the dogs of debt collection. you got a mortgage so that is OK,
send CCA1974 to each creditor to send Recorded Delivery they have 12 + 2 days to respond then it becomes unenforceable until they do? try not to stress too much as these DCAs hope you panic . no need to. help is here CCA Request
