    Really need some advise, my son applied for a mortgage , it came back that he had a ccj issued against him in December 2023, for an address he has never lived at , his ex girlfriend lived there in 2015, for 4 months ,he has never had any debt pays his bills on time and has Iived at 3 different addresses since then,,all utilitys paid on time etc, never received any paperwork or letters from any debt recovery agents this is the first he knew about it , now the mortgage company will not lend him the money ,he has saved for years to be able to get his own home , the national civic business centre don’t answer the phones , we do not even know what this supposed debt is , what can we do about it ????

    Do you mean the "Civil National Business Centre" in Northampton? That is the national administration centre for county courts/small claims courts. They are the only people who can give you the details of what the CCJ is for so you need to keep on trying to get in touch with them.

      You can check online via the following site, if it was issued in Dec 2023 - https://www.trustonline.org.uk/
      There is a small fee. There are things that can be done about it.

          The best way to get through to Civic National Business Centre by phone is to start phoning just before the lines open (8:30am?) and then hang on until they answer. Monday is a good a day to try. They usually pick up after 10-15 mins wait - earlier if you are lucky. I've done it several times successfully recently. .
