Defendant in a small claim. When should I receive a copy of his witness statement?

  • Defendant in a small claim. When should I receive a copy of his witness statement?

    An individual is claiming against me, the hearing is in 2 weeks time. He has a witness statement, should I automatically receive a copy of this? As without it, I can't see how I can adequatey resopnd.

    The Court directions order should have set a date for this, stipulating that each party should supply copies of their statements to the other.

    If such an orderr has been made and not complied with, inform the court, and definitely say this at the start of the hearing.

      Thank you. Its been classed as a preliminary hearing. Says here to email documents to the court 7 days in advance to the court, which must also be sent to the other side
