  • Won Small Claims - What happens next ?

So I recently won my small claims action against a very large gym company in the UK, I was awarded compensation with the defendants being given 14 days to pay.

So I just have a few quick questions:

    1) Does this CCJ have any affect on the company, i.e any repercussions at all such as increased insurance premiums, difficulty getting finance or loans ?

    2) Do I get any form of letter or confirmation that I won the case ?

    3) I didn't see anyone writing anything down ( it was just the judge and solicitors ) in the court but is any type of transcript available from the hearing ?

    4) Are the results for the county court published online or in any news paper ?

I've gone home elated but suddenly realised I really don't have anything showing I've won.

    Many thanks

You will/should get a letter soon. The defendant will also get a copy. You can then chase for payment. Theoretically you can chase for payment after the 14 days is up.

You can pay to get a transcript made

The CCJ will not be recorded against them until one month after if they haven't paid.

A CCJ will make other companies think twice about doing business with them.

Amazing thank you, sorry for being stupid but how do I pay to get a transcript and have you any idea how much it costs ?

So a CCJ is if they don't pay the compensation but is there anything else apart from this that goes against the company after losing this court case ?

      Thanks again
