  • High Court Writ just received and sent to wrong address

i’ve Just been sent a High Court writ dated as issued in February 2018 with 14 days to file a defence. The claimants solicitors have been in communication with me since March 2018 at my current address in a ‘Letters before Claim’ scenario. They didn’t tell me a writ had already been filed in court. Can I still file a defence as this appears to have been a deliberate action to try and stop me defending this action.

Do you mean you have received a claim filed in the High Court?

Or is this an application for enforcement by the High Court?

A writ is a judgement or order, so you wouldn't defend it as it's the result of a case.
