  • How to make a claim against a Scottish business while I live in England

    Hi

last summer I purchased a product at a trade show with cash and the Balance with a debit card. The item broke shortly afterwards and after making a complaint the company made me pay to send it back and repaired the item, it came back and broke again so had to pay and send it back again. The item came back repaired And broke straight away.. the company have basically said tough and will not entertain me any longer. I have looked into raising a county court claim and while completing the claim form, it flagged up that as the company is in Scotland I cannot continue.
This company should not be able to get away with this and after all I spent £400 in the beginning and that’s quite a large amount of money to just lose

I hope some one can help

    besr regards

My posts here are based on my experience of a variety of life events. I have no formal legal training & if in doubt take professional legal advice or contact CAB. If you follow anything I write here you do so at your own risk & I accept no liability for any loss, costs or other outcomes.

May we ask what the item is? because there could be possible Alternative Dispute Resolution channels/options which maybe available to you to resolve this dispute and get your money back without the need of instructing court action.
