BCRP are basically an information service between shops.

BCRP can't take anyone to court.

You're safe unless you go shoplifting again ... which after the stress this has caused you I don't think you have any intention of doing xxx

You might get an invoice in a couple weeks time - Read the letters here - https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...-dwf#post93667
          - you either pay it and never hear anything else - or you don't and get the next 4/5 letters as well. Entirely up to you what you do but do not be stressing over it, there's far more important things in life xxx

Checking CCTV is a very time consuming exercise and nobody will be doing that on the off chance of picking up a shop lifter in action

I know it is time consuming but when I did get caught I didn't have id on me I lied about my. Address but he found a letter with my. Name and address on when he went through my bag. He went through my phone as well he did say to me u don't have an I'd on you so someone. Needs to verify you and say you are who you say you are and then I just said I don't have anything so then I got sent the rlp letter through the post I got the other letter that amethyst posted and then two days ago I got sent the rlp letter I'm shook it came fast when everyone had said to me that it was going to take a few weeks but I got it a week later so I showed my mum the letter and she decided to call them and they put my account on hold for 2 months and then I think they will call me in January I think he said

Are you saying you've now received a letter from RLP ?

Presumably if you ( your mum ) rang them you intend on paying it.

                          It's still not a fine. It's a speculative invoice.

That you got it quickly means nothing other than they've sorted out their admin process xx

RLP ( or Primark - or anyone else for that matter ) haven't taken anyone to court to pay one of these invoices for 8 years or so ( when they lost ).

But with the amount of stress it is causing you, if you can afford to pay it, it will get it over and done with so you can move on.

                              Totally different scenario to yours
This was a criminal case, whereas your concern revolves around civil procedures
