b) may potentially be disclosed on a DBS certificate;
c) may potentially be disclosed to employers and regulatory bodies;
d) the person will be placed on the "sex offenders register" in the case of prescribed sex offences;
e) may be used in family law related proceedings;
f) may be used in related civil claims; and
g) may have consequences for travel and immigration purposes.

Notram865 I heard that a simple caution and caution were the same thing. I will do some reading now and make sure. I hope there is a difference and if I find there isn't I will definitely let you know

des8 oh dear thanks for this however ive read on the gov website that simple cautions are spent immediatey, is this correct? Feel like i may have got this totally wrong. On a DBS check, what would it say? Does it go into detail or would it just say theft?

A simple caution is spent immediately, which means it does not have to be disclosed when asked unless you are seeking work in an occupation that is listed in the Exceptions Order to the ROA such as working with children and vulnerable adults or for other excepted purposes such as seeking to obtain certain licences.
However it may still be disclosed on a DBS check
