I rather doubt that, for £500, one could even buy just the wheels for the trailers!

    the tools were spares..
Irrelevant. Whether or not he had other tools of the same form or function, they were his tools to keep, give away or sell as he pleased.

You mean he might have pinched them after only one day in "storage"?

What's happened to the classic Mini :noidea:
My guess would be that it was broken up for parts some years ago.

That's a heck of a lot for a packet of Woodbines!

It does not matter what he paid for the trailers - what does matter is how much he'd have to pay to replace them.

I totally agree, and so will a judge I suspect, its the replacement cost for everything, if you can find similar things in the similar condition that have sold on the net or auction sites then THAT is the money I would be asking for them

            Ask yourself one thing

If the items were NOT stolen and you decided yesterday to sell EVERYTHING that was in the garages and you researched the value of everything and then found a buyer today for everything how much would YOU have sitting in your hand tonight???

As that is the amount I would be chasing HARD for, for ONLY the garage contents, as the thief has took that option AWAY form you to do that now

Assuming that he's not Zak's cousin and that he's not returned to his Home Planet, it may be useful to obtain a witness statement from him before the landlord can persuade him to change his mind.
