Re: pip assessment appointment 50 miles away from my home help!
I thought (I'll have to check up on it tho') that a pip assessment had to be a 45min journey max each way?? how long would 100 miles take you on public transport??

can you not push for a home assessment/visit??Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

Re: pip assessment appointment 50 miles away from my home help!
I think it is a max of 90 mins each way by public transport, you can google a route planner and fine out your exact times from your house to the venue.
You could get a note from your GP and quote the 90 minute rule in the event you have to cancel, but be aware I THINK you are only allowed to cancel once.
The back log is supposedly clearing now and maybe see if there is a nearer assessment centre you could tell them you can go to.

Travel expenses
The cost of the journey from your home to the assessment centre (and back again), parking and fuel can be reimbursed. If you take someone with you to the assessment, their travel costs can be reimbursed but only if they travel with you.
You can’t get your travel expenses paid before the assessment and you can’t be reimbursed for things like meals and loss of earnings.
If you travel by taxi, you must get the centre to approve the use of the taxi before your assessment. If you don’t, they may not reimburse the fare.
If you travel by car, the cost of parking can be reimbursed and 25p per mile can be paid towards the cost of fuel.Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.
It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

Re: pip assessment appointment 50 miles away from my home help!
That's really short notice for an assessment so far away. I'd have said budgeting loan but that would take too long,. There seem to be 3 centres in Sheffield so goodness knows why they've sent him to Leeds. Have you tried speaking with them about the appointment?#staysafestayhome

Re: pip assessment appointment 50 miles away from my home help!
Totally different subject, going to my first wrag interview today, i have mobility problems, due to severe osteoarthritis, they've only agreed to pay for taxi today. What are my rights? Can I refuse to go? They refuse to do home visits.can I reapply to be put in support group? Cab weren't really helpful, basically told me to get on with it & don't lose my temper,I'm so worried about this.
