    Tax Credit Overpayment - Good News

    Gordon Brown faces the humiliating prospect of having to return hundreds of millions of pounds that has been reclaimed in overpaid tax credits in the latest blow to the complex benefit system he introduced.

    Hooray!! About bloody time. I know of 3 people whose lives have been devastated by these over payments.
    "Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

      As was said the other day - this is a lot to do with the papers putting a spin on the issues to make headlines. Wouldnt hold anyones breath waiting for these overpayment claims to be cancelled.
