Ive got at least 8 PPI claims i think, poss more. could some one help?

I was randomly clearing out the filing cabinet and noticed lots of paperwork, with PPI or CPP on.

I have looked on Martin lewis site and realise i am in with a chance to claim.
But where on earth do i start?

I have a pile of papers from 2003-2008 Tesco credit card with PPI all over it
same with Virgin card, i def have paperwork for that, although not for the entirety of loan
then i realise i have MBNA loan
and a Virgin loan
and then i find a PPI cert from Barclay card
and another for a barclay card loan
i also had a Natwest loan & account

and found out last year that Virgin was taking £10 pm for phone insurance? definitely didn't ask for it or take it out and it had been going out for a year?

and it keeps growing!!
Ive had a Debenhams card, and Egg card, M&S card

am i mad to think i could claim back?

Hi Coz, You can make a claim to each company, its simple. All you have to do is downland a PPi claims form from each companies website complete it and submit to each company. The selling of PPI has already been deemed as mis selling and all the companies that sold PPI must refund your money. On the claims form you simply say I did not request PPI, I did not know I had PPI and I did not want PPI. . Dont worry if you dont have all the info ie dates account numbers etc. When you submit a claims form the company will check their records to see if you had PPi. They will tell you whether you did or not. If you did they will ask you again what are your reasons for making the claim, you simply reply you didn't ask for it, want it or realised you had it. They will phone you and they will give the impression they are trying to get out paying you, Just reply as I have just mentioned and that's all you have to do. Please please do not use a PPI clim company. They will charge up to 30% of your claim and all they do is submit a claims form for you. They will say that they can get you more money back and in a faster time and have sucesfuly claimed ack millions for clients. They also say they have specialist PPI claim professionals who will handle your claim for you. This again is a crock, there are no recognised professionals that have gained skills in PPI claims. The claim procedure is managed by the company who sold the PPI, and they have to repay the premiums you paid in full with interest and compensation to correct your financial situation.No PPI claims company has any influence or involvement in the claims process. You can do this yourself. I am Mortgage broker and I have helped many of my clients submit an application and successfully get heir money back. One client who i am still helping asked for my help and i ave discovered a total of 11 individual accounts which may have PPI. To date I have submitted 6 claims, 2 are still on going, 2 were confirmed as having no PPi and the other 2 did have PPI. My client has now received £12,900 in settlement for the two with PPI. I am now submitting another 6 claims. The claims have been submitted to Lloyds, MBNA, Halifax Goldfish, RBS & Virgin. You will never know if you are owed money unless you submit a claim. Its so simple to do.

It does seem daunting, but better you fill out the information on those forms yourself, rather than on the multiplex of forms a CMC would send you and charge you 35% of your claim for.

Once they have gone in and you've had final responses ( or in 8 weeks) you can take the complaints to the Financial Ombudsman - which is just another form fill exercise.

Feel free to keep a diary of what you send to who/when and responses on here though, we'll give you a hand with anything you aren't sure of.

So I decided to ring all the companies about my mis sold PPI claims. and great news they all took details and I was able to start the ball rolling. So I started my complaints with
Tesco credit card
virgin (mbna)
barclay card
barclay visa
barclays bank x3 loans
barclays actually identified another that I need to do tomorrow!

BUT I also found paper work from CPP. When I rang I was told I was out of time. But the letter says they would contact me and I didn't need to do anything. I never got that next letter from CAPITA! Does anyone know anything about perusing this?

but it's been a productive day. And it seems I really didn't need to worry about the forms. Every person I spoke to was helpful and kind and offered a lot of valuable info regarding my claims. With some claims being 15-17 yrs ago.
Ive been told by all of them that I will receive acknowledged receipt from them about processing my complaints.
Wish me luck. Watch this space.

Someone I know from work simply rang Barclays with their details and they paid out on PPI within a month. I comment on this one to give you a bit of support in claiming against Barclays

That does give me hope. I was stressing so much about the amount of forms I needed to fill and send off. But from what info the Customer services of each company gave me in my calls with them made it so much easier. I woke feeling a lot less stressed lol.

Missed that the other day sorry - it is really good to hear you have had such a positive response. The banks/lenders are dealing with so many of these claims now there is really no point at all in them making it complicated or difficult. Most of them have dedicated teams who just deal with PPI complaints now.

Another productive day. Rang Debenhams about an old account. Closed it years ago, so I have no info regarding this account.but they tried to find it, with no success. They gave me a tel number for Santander and I rang them. Again they were really helpful. Took all the information and said they would contact me.
I rang NatWest for an old account for me a joint account, and a loan. This time I have been asked to submit forms, although they will post them to me to fill in.

So I can't stress enough to everyone PLEASE do it your self, you may be lucky like me an not need to start with any forms, but be able to do it by phone.

Well it's been 3 weeks and so far so good. I have had responses from ALL of the companies i phoned regarding PPI.
All sent me letters with in 5 days acknowledging my complaint. Some sent extra paper work asking for more info. I received a letter from Barclays today to day. My complaint has been upheld and £620 was already in my account!
MBNA sent more forms which i have returned today too.

So im am so glad I listened to the guidance given above!!! Granted its only one claim so far. But it was easier than I expected and i can only say to other Please Please Do IT YOURSELF!!!

Dont use companies. Just make the call

Infact i rang Natwest and asked the man if he would have a chat with my mother and check for her. She was adamant she didn't have any ppi or past loans!!!
Turns out she did. And with in 2 wks she was paid £500!!

Easiest thing to do. I made files up for every company. I made notes of names, times and dates of every call i made.

Will keep you posted with regards to ther claims.

Do you know anything about CPP? I rang them and they said i did have it but because I didn't apply before 2014 February, i cant claim, yet Martin Lewis Money Expert says we can still claim upto February 2016. ????
