Re: Think Money Group/Millenium Insurance Brokers Ltd, /Think Insure And Think Bankin
Hi clare and welcome to Legal Beagles.
You are paying for the privilege of having a bank account with Think Money, no more no less.
The account costs £14.50 per month (£21.25 for joint accounts) - but that's all you'll ever pay. You'll never be charged for missing a payment or going overdrawn.
As for your insurance your info has been passed on to Millenium Finance Ltd an insurance brokers who have then got you the insurance from someone else, details of who will be on your policies.

Re: Think Money Group/Millenium Insurance Brokers Ltd, /Think Insure And Think Bankin
Firstly you need to leave Think Banking - go and open a basic bank account at a 'normal bank' that offers the same facilities - presumably online banking - and have your child benefit paid into there.
Do you have your own home and do you have home insurance ( contents or buildings ) outside of this Millenium product ? Same with life insurance ?
DO you have any other income other than the Child Benefit - and where does that get paid to ?
You mentioned you didn't realise who Think Banking were, that they intimated they were RBS, and that you were sorting out a Debt Management Plan with Gregory Pennington, that came 'with' a bank account - but you paid off all your debts within 4 months anyway, and have now been paying £15 a month for 9 years to have this special 'debt management' account ?#staysafestayhome

Hey, That's okay it's easy to get confused on here, you should get notifications if you have replies on your posts.
already got basic account with hang
AutoCorrect got you there, who's the bank account with?
So you have a basic account already, that's good - you need to extricate yourself from ''Think'' and have your Child Allowance paid into your Basic Account instead, but before you do that you need to check if you are tied into anything with your life insurance and home insurance policy.
What is your living situation ? Do you have your own place - ie. do you need house insurance ?
How long ago did you go bankrupt ?
Sussed the RBS connection - your account is actually held with RBS, just managed by Think Money for you.

Re: Think Money Group/Millenium Insurance Brokers Ltd, /Think Insure And Think Bankin
Hmmm ok. Yes RBS don't have anything to do with Think Money other than Think Money use RBS to process transactions/cheques and send statements.
First job is to close the Think Banking account and cut ties with Gregory Pennington and get your money paid to your HSBC account. Make sure you are straight and not tied to them for anything.
As I understand it, you only have Child Benefit being paid into the account, and the only money going out is for Think Bankings fees, and the two insurances. There's no debts or bills management taking place at all.
Then you will need to write a letter of complaint to Think BAnking and Gregory Pennington ( we'll help you) and then take the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.
Do you have copies of any documents - policies / letters / statements etc - and can you scan / photograph a couple of examples ? specifically any letter from Millenium saying your policy is cancelled.
What does it say on your monthly statement for what money is being taken ?
Right.
You need to do things at the right time. So after your next Child Benefit payment into the account, as soon they have taken their payments for the week and you have taken out any money in there you need to..
1) contact Child Benefit ( Telephone: 0300 200 3100 ) to have your money paid into your HSBC account instead - they can usually action that for the next payment but do that first so you know that Think Banking can't keep hold of any of it.
THEN
2) Contact Think Banking ''7.5 If you wish to close the Personal Account, you may do so by writing to notify thinkmoney or calling it on 08000 566 566. On receipt of your cancellation, you will cease to be able to use your thinkmoney Card and Accounts.''
But make sure your child benefit payments are changed first.
IF you are at all unsure or nervous about making the changes then make an appointment at your local Citizens Advice office and ask them to help you, they will be able to look at your paperwork and make sure you won't have any outstanding liability for the insurances, and they might be able to help with the calls. Some times it can just be helpful to speak to someone in person.#staysafestayhome

Re: Think Money Group/Millenium Insurance Brokers Ltd, /Think Insure And Think Bankin
an update to this...i sent complaints to think money group, about greggory pennington, think banking and themselves now think money, about the insurances what they took out on my behalf with millenium, wat i knew nothing about.they told me that think money themselves were offering home insurance, which was a lie...id been declared bankrupt for 3 months, i signed forms not to apply for credit. yet my bank applied to brokers and got it on my behalf, fuming, still passing me from one person to another, best thing is the woman customer services from think money rang me to say i needent worry about the insurance policy being just after bankrupsy as it wasnt a contract or i didnt pay anything for millenium to cover me, total lies as it dsays on a letter insurance policey then all details underneith i was getting charged 150 a year to millenium, they shouldnt be able to lie about something as serious as getting finance/credit on my behalf, i never knew
