Hello and thank you in advance.
I have just received a letter from HSBC. The opening line states " our records show you have purchased PPI" the letter goes on to say that I need to ask the bank to investigate and fill out the attached questionnaire, I have done this and sent it off. I have never even thought about claiming as I have never needed PPI as I have been fully employed since 16 yrs old. 6 years in the armed forces and currently 6 years as a police officer so as you can see I would never need it and to be honest a little shocked they are informing me now. I currently have two closed/paid off loans and one active according to HSBC, I do not have much paperwork for any of it and on calling HSBC they said they are sending the loan agreements out to me.
I have no recollection of purchasing PPI for anything and I have wrote a letter explaining to them the reasons why I would never need it, I sent this with their questionnaire, but as I say its in black and white on the letter that I have indeed purchased it.
The only time I think I saw any sort of insurance on a statement was on a number of credit card statements online, this credit card is also paid off but I do distinctly remember seeing that I had paid insurance a number of times, I think it was around £12 each time, I am unsure what this is so I have also asked HSBC to look into this.
So far am doing the right thing by asking for the agreements to be sent to me and if I still dont see any PPI on the previous agreements how do I find out where I have paid it as HSBC are clearly telling me I have purchased it.
thank you so much for any help you can provide.
