Just had a terrible thought !

I also have an MBNA (Virgin)card with a balance outstanding, I wonder if they will seek to offset and credit the refund to the MBNA account.

I am not too sure about that, I know when I claimed ppi on an old Barclaycard with a balance still on it they didn't offset it they just sent me the cheque.

I think you were lucky, I fully expect them to reduce the balance on the MBNA, but if they also use the refund to credit the Virgin card there will be virtually nothing left, still I suppose I will have the extra available credit on the carde.

Hi Andy, I phoned up the FSA today and it is only today that they have sent the information to MBNA, so we have to wait 8 weeks from today she said.
I am going to have no fingernails left by the end of 8 weeks lol

Good grief, my letter just says eight weeks, the FOS really do drag their feet, I am going away at the end of July, and was kind of depending on this for some of our spends so I hope they get their finger out.

They may have sent yours earlier than mine but she did say that they send them out in batches and not individually, fingers crossed MBNA deal with them quickly lol

Yes I used Bill ks and Turbos off here, I can highly recommend it, (well it worked fine n my other claims, I suppose we will have to wait on this one)

I tried to do it but couldn't make head not tale of it, I asked the FOS about figures and all she said is that they have to put me back to what it would be if I hadn't paid any PPI so I should have about 10 years worth so I have no idea about how much it would work out to be, cant wait to find out though

You could give "Turboman" a PM, he is the wiz with the figures on here and a very nice man, sure he will help, just give him a link to this thread.
But yes it does sound like you should have a good few bob coming, I figure on about 2k for me although I should not say(tempting providence and all that ).

The nice thing is , if you are like most of us and use the credit the wrong way, in other words don't pay it off every month, they have been charging the monstrous interest rates and compounding it for years, now is our turn, they not only have to refund the payments but compound the interest at the same rate they have been charging, kind of retribution i like to see.

wow thanks for that I didn't know that as I got into difficulty with it for a couple of years and I know I had a lot of charges ect on it.

Been reading this thread we just got one them letters but for cystale bsnk , the bank refused it in march fos just sent this letter to us and now been paid out on six acounts and one credit card

we did have a mnba credit card balance 500 limit over 7 years and we won ppi back it was 1470 we won so I assume ur looking at good sum
