        Re: Welcome PPI

Di, if OC has original agreement have they tried the underwriter route?
I , know from experience that Welcome are economical with the truth and even if they did agree to mis sold PPI will try and get you to sign a new agreement.
I did get some back by this route but still have a pre 2005 alleged loan with them that had ppi on it but nothing from that at all.

          Re: Welcome PPI

Its definately worth getting the details of the underwriter, as they will probably come back to say pre-2005 not FSA regulated, but they WERE GISC regulated but the only thing here is that the post 2005 ppi complaints are now dealt with by the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS) and they will not take on non FSA policy reclaims, despite the fact they were GISC registered as well.

            Re: Welcome PPI

Welcome used Norwich Union (Aviva) went that route with the agreement we had took a while and they did reject at first.
The other loan number is one Welcome have never provided any proof of whatsoever and that Aviva said they could not locate but I suppose i could give it another try.
Hope the OC gets a result.

thanks for input dog tired - read your long battle and inspired - FSCS won't take as pre 2005, nor will they take it up as broker, now liquidated, was not regulated at that time either. Just giving last stab at Welcome befiore going down underwriter route - policy document refers to Direct Group on behalf of Norwich Union. Was guessing would need evidence of Welcome rejection before appraoching the underwriter but stand to be corrected.

Thank you! I, in turn was inspired by all the help given by this site.
Contacted both Direct Group said it was nothing to do with them, FSCS seem to have a team that only deal with Welcome!
I think you are correct, Di will know so hope she can confirm.

                  Hiya

I have recently sent off a claim form to Welcome for the mis sale of PPI on a pre 2005 loan with them. I emailed them and they said I needed to print off a claim form and send it to them (cant email as it has be to signed). Would you like me to email you the form?

                    Hiya
I always rule out the broker first, then it this fails, go to the underwriter because if you ended up taking the underwriter (who will be FSA regulated) to the FOS later on, they will see the avenues you have tried and to save them time too x

                      thanks dog tired

will probably just go after Aviva rather than direct to Direct but need to get brain in gear. i do have di's underwriter letter but need to compose myself. just had an op for ruptured bicep and high on all sorts of medication i have to take and cannot type wiyh wrong hand.

so question - Direct or Aviva??

                        Re: Welcome PPI

Would think Aviva, they did reject at first so then went to FOS.
( used Di s template) the refund came out of the blue, dont think you would get as much as the full PPI but it was very welcome ( sorry!).
Not clear what is going on with Welcome themselves just know that they did try to get us to sign a new aggrement on an alleged loan for which they provided no documents at all, passed it to Incasso and when they could not prove it passed it to Mackenzie Hall.
Now five years plus since we made payments.
Am now thinking of trying again for compensation as we did pay into this alleged loan and it apparently had ppi, home insurance etc added.
Good luck and hope your arm is better soon.
Mr DT is due in for a hernia op so will be dipping in a little less from next week.
