Sorry they are not accepting the offer DT.

Where is the goodwill from them??

I would bluntly tell them that you cannot give what your not able to afford as you need to live too, and request they meet you in the middle with this as you want this resolved as much as they do, tell them you are most disappointed with the outcome, as you have been doing your best to get this matter finished once and for all, and am willing to settle this NOW with the original offer.

Could be worth another push and maybe to the CEO too and tell him as a respectable business where you are or having been a loyal customer to them over the years, despite the fact that unfortunately you fell into difficulties with no fault of your own, you assumed they would be most understanding in these situations, where you are trying to get this matter out of the way ASAP, and that you are able to manage £150 but you have been rejected on that offer.

I know you have been on to them all the time DT, but in some cases they may even decide to go along with you, stay strong.

They still insist on just over £211.
Going to try again to see if they will meet half way, would just be able to scrape £170 .

It sure looks like it's down to just plain haggling over the final few quid, DT. Looks like they are probably holding out for £200-ish, and you are in the stronger position of being able to make them an offer. My guess (FWIW) is to suggest £180 as a final offer, and tell them to take it or leave it.

I did e mail the £170 offer and had automated reply that the person is off until Jan 10th, but within that is another address, may give that a whirl later, they have had real bad publicity lately haven't they and although this is relatively small I feel a need to shout from the rooftops how awful the complaints service and his rubbish they treat customers.

Not yet, will try this tomorrow.
Got more important things to worry about just now.
Mr DT has to go and have an op so, reluctently, will continue with the payment plan but make it clear it is "without admission of liability"

Thanks Di hopefully then he sees the Dr tomorrow they will fast track it.
Had the problem for some time( hernia)
Got to make my mind up about Barclays, frankly the CEO office have been less than helpful and have threatned me with litgation should I now default on the small remainder, IF I have enough in my savings I would be able to pay this off but this account has no cheque or faster payment facility and I dont really want to pay cash.
The other option would be just to coninue with the repayment plan and continue to build the savings and try fo full and final at a later date.

Mr DT to see Dr at hospital next week.
E mailed Barclays again made it plain that should I pay his sum I want confirmation the alleged remainder is written off and that I retain my right to continue with the FOS ( not that that seems to scare them!) Also put the bit in about " without predjudice" ( appologies for spelling!)
