Hi,
I have just had a PPI claim rejected and I need advice. My main problem has been I cannot be clear how I applied for the card, I believe I was canvassed by a sales person in a shopping centre but I cannot be certain as it was in 1997. I do remember making a call and being advised I should have the insurance.
I was called by RBS during the investigation and I was honest and shared the above information as I felt to lie would be wrong.
I have now had a letter stating they cannot uphold my claim, in the letter it says that I said I was unable to remember anything about sale (untrue i said couldn't remember clearly), that I didn't apply for it in a branch (that much is true). Finally, as I ticked the PPI box and signed the form I acknowledged and consented to the details provided.
My complaint is that the PPI was sold to me despite it not being required, I have worked for the same company for the whole period having the card, I have a very good sickness and redundancy package and would realistically have never needed to use the PPI as I would have always have been able to cover the balance.
Do I have a case to challenge their decision?
