Cant you see that the statement below was said in jest?

    4) Should I charge a subscription fee for the information I share on cartoon bankers?

What happened to your sense of humour? lol

Please also note that I have to disagree with your statement:

Claiming PPI isn't difficult. The FOS forms aren't difficult. A SAR isn't difficult.

There are many many people vulnerable people out there who DO need help and the Banks really do put up a fight and judging from my experience the percentage of consumers that persevere is quite low.

This forum is a fantastic resource for people BUT many will arrive here and they get confused with the large amount of information available.

You also have to factor in laziness, apathy AND the fact that not everyone likes reading.

    Thoughts?

Peoples experiences of CMCs have not been all that brilliant to date, I know there are good ones and bad ones as in any industry.

Why do you feel you want an MOJ licence besides being a practising solicitor ?

Can you run a Claims Management Company whilst being employed as a solicitor ? (SRA wise?)

Why do you need 'redstone' to do the cases if you are a solicitor ? would you be paid referral fees ? How would you monitor them and their handling of cases entrusted to you ?

Where would your clients come from ?

Would you be acting in their best interests or your own (bad question I know but we see so many people being told they have a valid claim for PPI when they actually never had a PPI product in their life- have a read of some of the massive Cento Client Review thread for a better idea of some peoples experiences which might help you see why you got the reaction you did)

Lots of the CMCs post on forums like Affiliates4U and you may get some different thoughts from there. Whilst we do understand some people like to use a CMC we cannot advocate it at all. Claiming PPI isn't difficult. The FOS forms aren't difficult. A SAR isn't difficult.

The MOJ take 7 weeks or longer to process applications for new CMCs to protect consumers, look how many companies on the MOJ claims reg site have fallen by the wayside or been cancelled/suspended.

    4) Should I charge a subscription fee for the information I share on cartoon bankers?
Says a lot that you are asking that.

    Shame.

Wow - What a backlash and I do acknowledge that this is a "D.I.Y Forum" hence the creation of videos to detail my experience from the frontline.

I really thought the information I shared would encourage those brave souls who HAVE taken on the banks and also to help prepare them from a legal standpoint OR at least encourage them to read and do more research.

I will repeat statement from first post -

Depending on feedback I may simply leave setting up the claims arm until later or not at all!

Maybe I should have asked the following questions:

    1) Should I get an MOJ licence - even though I do not need it as I am a Solicitor currently working for a Law Firm in London.

    2) If i get a MOJ licence then will this stop people watching my videos.

    3) What is worst an MOJ licence OR The Banks?

    4) Should I charge a subscription fee for the information I share on cartoon bankers?

Thanks again for your responses and I have taken what has been said on board.

Cartoon Bankers will continue to be a informational site (as stated in the First post) and I have removed any reference to services that I offer.

I think it is entirely unreasonable and inappropriate for you to describe Amethyst's response as harsh.

If you posted this on any other comparable forum (CAG, MSE, PC) it would have been pulled in a heartbeat. The fact that it still remains here is testament to Amethyst's gracious hospitality.

This forum exists to enable the less fortunate to help figure out their problems for themselves. It does not exist as a free resource on which to canvas unpaid advice to enable businessmen to further profit from activities that Legal Beagles do for nothing.

On a DIY forum you want advice on how to set up a CMC due to problems with the MOJ which will handle claims, and you say Ame has been harsh?

If you don't want to set up a CMC why do you have a problem with the MOJ wherein you are obviously looking for permission to set up a CMC?

If you don't want to tout for business but simply share what goes on in the industry, then why 9 posts in why haven't you shared, and asked advice on how to get round the MOJ?

It's a contact us page problem that you've not received any business from, yet you deal with a low number of cases at any one time that you deal with on a case by case basis?

If you don't want to promo why are you asking for people to offer advice on market intelligence and improve your site?

If your other site is informatory only, why the panic on being offline, when you only handle a low number of cases?

AND if you don't want to create yourself as a CMC why are you wanting to set up a CLAIMS ARM?

    Pick a position dude....

    Ame is being harsh......PMSL

With contradictions like that, no wonder you aren't a practising barrister, sorry mate - that really is pathetic, if that's not what you wanted to discharge....think about what you planned to say.

Please re-read my post as I think your response has been a bit harsh.

Cartoon Bankers will be information only.

I did not want to setup a CMC but it was recommended by other colleagues that I go down this route and as you can see by my post I am open to all comments about this decision!

I have been as transparent as I can with all the information that I provide and NO ONE else in the industry is doing what I have done and a big reason is fear.

I am not touting for business and I am simply trying to share what goes on in the industry.

I deal with a LOW number of cases at any one time and I do not operate as a factory operation. Everyone is treated on a case by case basis.

I also have to disagree that the pie is diminishing there are lots of people out there that need the help of professionals and also information provided by this forum.

Also just so you are completely aware of my stance on such issues I posted this recently CMC PPI peeps attn pls - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum and you should probably have a read of the debt management and claims management companies forum. As well as helping people reclaim their own PPI on their own we help people gain redress when they have been royally screwed and let down by CMCs and DMCs. Advertising is just not what we do.

Well from informative, useful videos you have kinda now crossed over into marketing for your CMC business so I can see where the MOJ are coming from. You can't (IMO) be a campaigner for fairness and earn your living off the back of it,...plus if it did become a CMC then we couldnt link to you for obvious reasons...plus I think you are trying to get a teeny piece of a diminshing pie a bit too late (but thats just my opinion)

Have you undertaken any claims for people other than yourself for renumeration or payment in kind ?

Redwood Legal will be doing the claims on your behalf ? on what basis ? How do you get paid ?
