Hmmm...interesting this is Master Debtisbad. More on this if you will!

Are you saying that these pre-paid credit cards can be used as defacto bank accounts? What is the on-line servicing like? What are their charges like? I thought that if a pre-paid card had any credit balance then they charged you a monthly fee? What experience have you had of going down this route?

I have not used one myself but have seen them advertised. As you can only spend what you have on the card, you cannot go into debt and they do not get registered on CRAs. There are charges for lading and debiting, so you would have to compare the charges for your typical spend with you current bank charges, taking into account that many people have packaged bank accounts. As I understand it, salary can be paid on and you can pay bills, direct debits, etc from the card and control it all online.

Like you say, perhaps worth a new thread in a different section?
        Thanks!

I don't think anybody cares unless it is something that is specific to the PPI Judicial Review and is has value. I would suggest you send them a PM if you have any specific concerns as to their well being.
