    Are Belmont Thornton a claims management company ?

    We'd need to look at the terms and conditions you agreed but usually in cases where the debt is reduced/paid off by the refund they obtained for you, then yes they would invoice you for their fee - percentage of what was repaid by the lender. They should allow payment by installments but I dont know of the company personally. Do you have a copy of the terms signed ?

      Theres another thread about Belmonts on here - Belmont Thorntons - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum

      This their site ? PPI Claims | Unfair Payment Protection Refunds | PPI Claim Company

      Application pack - http://www.ppiclaimcompany.co.uk/ApplicationPack.pdf

      '' If we do win your Claim our fees are 25% plus VAT and this will be payable from the amount we win''

      and their T&C's PPI Claim Company Terms and Conditions

      3.4 .... should the Compensation be paid direct to the Client, Belmont Thornton will invoice the Client for the Fee which will become immediately due and payable by the Client to Belmont Thornton. If this fee is not paid in full within 28 days of the dated invoice it shall be deemed a termination of the Agreement and will fall under clause 3.6 below;

      So yes I would expect an invoice.

        Coincidentally just watching an advert for the feckers on the telly right now.

        Claim paid out within 8 weeks, but sometimes within 10 days? Hmm

        Another poor sucker who didn't realise exactly what they were liable for, when with a little work they could have done it all themselves.

        Sorry mate, but that's the reality of the situation.

          I have to tell you Do Not use this company.
          My friend went with them in Nov2009 with 4 claims and now just this week after all the lies my friend has been told by them they phoned the FOS to find out what was happening and the FOS informed them that all paperwork was sent back to Belmont Thornton on the 17th May 2010 as it was not filled in properly and had closed the file
          Yet Bel/Thorn said to my friend that it was just taking time as so many claims were being dealt with by the FOS.
          So my friend has in fact lost a year almost with the lies etc BELMONT THORTON have told to them. When my friend asked to speak to some one in the complaints dept he was told he would have to put it in writing or e-mail that dept. as they had no phone number He has now sent e-mails asking them to phone him ASAP but to no avail
          So Please DO NOT USE THEM

            bt state in their terms and conditions that they will deduct their fee and send on whats left. they olso state that they will deal with your claim but will use the ombudsman if they feel it is in your best interest/ that is missleading because bt have never dealt with a claim, they alwayes use the ombudsman. please note this is their old terms and conditions which were very quickly changed after these companys were fetured on panorama as scammers/liers/and cheats.
            if anybodys claim is old' check the old terms and conditions.
