Hi, just found paperwork from a first plus loan from 15/12/2005, it was for £21,000 and had an extra £4385.30 added by loanmakers for ppi, loanmakers have ceased trading and this loan was later added to my mortgage, is there anything I can do to try to claim this back, many thanks

You need to contact the FSCS*https://www.fscs.org.uk/ÂÂ*they compensate when a company has gone bust, You can go to these because you took out the loan after 14 Jan 2005, had you taken the loan before this date you would have no recourse other than the underwriter, if you could actually find out who they were !. Single premium PPI is the reason for the mis sell of the PPI, this was in effect a loan on the loan to be repaid to term end with interest. Hope this helps

You can claim from FSCS according to their online form, I don't understand how it said "they were not registered at the time". Loanmakers went into administration, Barclays will only direct you to them as Barclays did not sell you the PPI.https://claims.fscs.org.uk/PreScreen...f-47d80b3f545d

Yes a Subject Access Request should get you those details. Did you make a PPI complaint to Barclays as well as FSCS ? Thinking ig you're having to wait 40 days for the SAR response you could get a complaint in to Barclays just in case the misselling is attributable to them ( well firstplus ) rather than loanmakers - https://www.barclays.co.uk/important-information/ppi/
Sounds like LoanMakers went under to avoid having to refund PPI. ( https://www.mortgagestrategy.co.uk/i...utive-buys-it/ )
