Key Financial Claims

I had a friend knock at my door this morning in a bit of a quandry. On Thursday he was phoned by the above company who subjected him to a high pressure sell. They knew the details of his card already, and he agreed to a visit about ppi reclaiming.

He was visited on Friday night and signed up.

This morning I cancelled everything over the phone, by e-mail and by recorded delivery letter, also withdrawing any right under Section 10 DPA to hold his data.

I have had an e-mail response saying it has been forwarded for cancellation, and obviously my friend will have confirmation of receipt of the letter sent recorded delivery.

Here is what I know from reading the documentation:

Hopefully the cancellatioin will go through. On their response e-mail, despite asking for confirmation they were destroying all data held, they said they could keep it. I've just got in and e-mailed them to ask them to destroy it all and confirm they have done so. I've also sent a letter to the Data Controller asking him to confirm all personal data has been destroyed.

Key Financial Services take a 29% cut of any fees reclaimed, and pay 70% of this to All About Saving Limited.

If anyone else is subjected to this high pressure sell, my advice would be ignore them.

Here is a thread on MSE http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=2522791 ref Key Financial Claims. So far not had a proper chance to read it but I am sure if I did deep enough I will come up with more stuff.

Legal Beagles is showing on first page Google already - so well done Labman for posting up.

Normally the pack has to be returned within the 14 days (going by other CMC's T&C's) so if a pack is received make sure it is sent back special delivery immediately.

I need to know when they COLD called :-

1. Did they give him / her the T&C's to read?
2. Did they take any upfront fee's?
3. If they did how much did they charge to a credit card?
4. How much was they going to charge for their service when the claim is complete?
5. Does your friend have any PPI to recover?
6. Did they know the name of your friend when they called?
7. Dis they say who told them to call your friend?

All these questions will help me to know if they have broken any MOJ rules.

Please try and answer these questions so we can see what sort of company we are dealing with.

Also if your friend did pay anyupfront fees they had better get on to the credit card provider and make a complaint.

Wow! I'd never realised what a maze these companies are. Both companies are registered with Companies House and are both limited companies. Key Financial have got Google nicely sewn up. I've just gone through the first 10 pages and found four references, one this thread, one the above where Key Financial are only mentioned in passing, one innocuous thread on MSE and another innocuous thread dating back on here. ALL the rest is adverts for them, many offering employment, and some basic information, but no complaints. There was something about the high % demanded (29.5%) and a minimum fee of £295 (+ VAT?????) They are an agent of Robin Hood Reclaims. All About Saving Ltd has little mention on the first few pages of Google, though accounts are better than Key Financial. Their Sales Director, Mark Pearson owns Link Corporate and Commercial, and Furore Ltd. A Google of both their directors show endless directorships with names in what look like a similar industry - wouldn't know without Googling each individually. Another company, Consumer Money Matters (see thread posted by Tutti), acts on behalf of Key Financial Claims. It seems an endless web of different companies representing each other. I think I'll leave this side of things to you Tutts, it's a nightmare.
