Ok guys this is not funny, talk about phoning the wrong person - I answered a call to a lady from a very noisy office who asked for me by name and was informing me that I had a credit card refund to be processed. It did not occur to me in the begining that I was being called from a CMC.
The conversation progresses - as then I ask who is refunding me??
To which she replied no - we want to reclaim your credit card charges or PPI
Of I said, did you know it was against your authorisation from the MOJ to cold call people...
She said it is ok because they have given them the number to do this....
oh dear I said you have broken the MOJ rules and I must point out that I am recording this call.
She said that they were also recording the call, I said thats good lol.
There was a lot of noise in the background and she could not always hear me and I could not hear her that well.
So then I said that I personally knew Kevin Roussel from the MOJ, she did not have a clue who he was, so I told her don't worry I will make sure that he knows who you are. and I said by the way take my phone number off your call list.
she told me to have a nice day lol and put the phone down.
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...WFcmDYMUq7--4w who calls me
My aim is to find out who these lovely people are - so please watch this space,

That number states that it is consumer direct Consumer Direct telephone number 08454 04 05 06 Which looks like it is part of Citizens advice
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governme...ghts/index.htm
that number also it appears covers the Trading Standards http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/advice/index.cfm very confusing indeed.
Sorry I only got the number from Google and copied and pasted it.

I would be inclinned to write to your daughters MP. I read in the MOJ report this morning that the MP's take up concerns directly with the MOJ snd this could also have an inpact.
Which TS did youcall? You need to call the one in the area where this CMC operates as they are bound to know them. TS are wrong they are licenced by the MOJ and the very least they could have done is reported this to them.
The MOJ have strict regulations in place and it looks like this lot have broken quite a few rules..
You can contact the regulator at the MOJ:
Claims Management Regulator
57-60 High Street
Burton on Trent
Staffordshire
DE14 1JS
Email: consumer@claimsregulation.gov.ukTelephone: 0845 450 6858
You could also try Consumer Direct which another member here contacted and found them to be really helpful.
Contact Consumer Direct. To get information or advice, call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 or fill in an online form. The helpline is open Monday to Friday ...
I can also confirm that we have heard back from the MOJ yesterday that they are looking into this CMC as well as all the others we put forward in the recent bulletin. We will also be having another meeting with them in the near future.

Basically its a civil matter, and should be taken up with Redress claims, dont they listen?
We explained what had happened, and that they are ignoring letters and phone calls and taking money fpor something they claim to be able to do in 8 weeks ,and 3 years later still not done anything
My daughter hasnt been in touch with the mortgage people or the credit card company yet, she got into difficulties with the credit card because of the expenses on her flat, so she sold the flat ,so has no mortgage now
How does she get in touch with the MOJ? write or ring initially,
I am disgusted with their [TS] attitude to be honestLast edited by TUTTSI; 19th April 2012, 10:27:AM.

Hi again, just spoken to Trading Standards in Bradford, they already had details of my daughter complaint about Redress claims,it had been passed to them by North Yorkshire TS ,
They said they were calling back in a couple of days,7 days from when we last spoke to them here,
We were not aware of this, never told, so now we should hear in a couple of days
Will update when we hear

Tell your daughter to call her Mortgage people and ask them if a payment has been made and if it was made direct to Redress, ask how much it was for and when they paid it. If they have not paid it ask them if Redress have put in a claim for mis-sold PPI and ask what is happening as she cannot get in touch with Redress?
Originally posted by valeriej43 View PostI dont think she has contacted the credit card company, i am not sure she knows she should,as Redress were going to do it,she maybe thought she shouldnt, half of the fee was for PPI on a mortgage
I will check with her tomorrow, but strange they are not answering their phones, if people get the message to email or write, they are still going to get no response it seems
I will let you know what Trading Standards say, can she ring the MOJ or has she to write,
She did say in the letter to Redress by thge way that if she didnt hear from them she would contact the MOJ

I absolutely agree let her call Trading Standards and insist that they look into this company.
Also, contact the Ministry of Justice as they authorise them.
Keep up the pressure and if you don't get anywhere Val let me know and we will take it to the MOJ ourselves. Another poster contacted TS re another CMC and they must of contacted the MOJ - just waiting to hear.
I can understand that 2 years ago the PPI claim were on hold, but now they are being paid out if they have genuinely been mis-sold. But last year the floodgates opened and people have now been paid out.
Something just does not add up as this claim should have been dealt with.
Has your daughter contacted the bank/credit card company that she had PPI with as they may have already paid the claim to Consortium?
