after putting in 3 claims under visa chargeback after discovering there was a problem with cartel client review ( within the 120 days even though he put his claims in 2008 ) a friend of mine has had 3 visa chargebacks awarded only for 2 to be taken back off him. his bank ( halifax ) inform him its because they fall outside the 540 day rule. does this rule exist

Did your friend actually pay Cartel Client Review directly or did he pay their agent?

Just another wee update.

A couple of days ago I got a letter from Gordons, the company that was appointed to sort out the CCLS mess, asking what to do with my paperwork. I asked for it to be sent to me. Received it this morning. As I thought, nothing had been done, even got the SAR cheque back. But....

If anybody is having any hassle with the bank on the chargeback scheme regarding Blue Domino, then if they get their paperwork back it should ease the struggle as everything you signed and sent to Cartel is included.

Hopefully the banks will have no excuse now.

Well, well, I just got a phonecall from Grassroots asking if I got my money back from Cartel as Cartel are in administration and they will claim my money back for me.

When I informed her that Grassroots and Cartel were one and the same she told me "not any more, Cartel has gone into administration". I said, yes but it's run by the same people, funnily enough she declined to comment on that. I asked if it's a no win no fee thing and yes it was.

Needless to say I told her what I thought of them.

To say my gob is smacked is an understatement. What a cheek. But just a little warning to anyone that hears from Grassroots, keep well away.

The number they called from is 03300881055.

If you receive anymore calls from them and they do not sound Kosher as we all know that Grassroot and Cartel are basically the same people, we can take this up further with the MOJ and advise them that Grassroots are NOT behaving.

The reason scumbags run a business into the ground with massive debts, then set up another company and keep doing this is because of lax law-making and regulation. The problem is the Tories who have tended to dominate the House of Lords and House of Commons over the years and their cronies in the CBI and Institute of Directors who lobby to keep regulation weak. A number of police officers I served with who specialised in Company Fraud, a very specialised area of fraud investigation I will not even try to explain, kept badgering the powers that be to tighten things up and make it harder for scumbags to keep setting up companies that fail and rip off consumers into the bargain. Alas, their words fell on deaf ears. The only way the law will change is for electors to apply pressure to MPs by threatening them with local petitions to force bye-elections. People power does work.

For your information BB, we have a working group from Legal Beagles who were able to visit with the Ministry of Justices offices last summer and they have agreed to work with us if we come accross any company that is not acting correctly. So far one such company we were able to give them so great information which they have acted on. This particular company was preying on the elderly and the not so conversant with computers and were scamming them of there money.

We send them periodicaly news letters highlighting what is going on around the forums and if we here of anything where they are not acting correctly we will highlight this to them.

Tuts, I would say they are definitely not behaving. They are phoning old Cartel scammed. She asked for me by name, before I confirmed who I was (in fact I never did confirm who I was) I asked who was calling. She told me she was from Grassroots and then informed me that I had had dealings with Cartel and as they were now in administration they were prepared to try and get my money back for me. It wouldn't cost me anything. I asked if it was a no win no fee thing and she said yes. Needless to say I then read her the riot act.

Once I put the phone down I could have kicked myself, I should have let her give me the whole spiel. But what concerns me is the fact that they are telling people they will get money back from a company that has gone into administration. I'm sure the bankruptcy people would like to know how to do that. Also as they are one and the same, who are they going to get the money back from? Very iffy if you ask me.

It just annoys me that they may scam someone who has lost money because of that scum. Not everyone knows that Grassroots and Cartel are the same people.
