  • Allay claims are demanding 24% of a settlement I didnt fully recieve

Allay Claims are demanding 24% of a approx £5,000 PPI settlement which is approx £1300.. in actual fact, after HSBC determined I still owed them an outstanding debt I actually only recieved around £3000. The figure they're demanding is actually 41% of what I recieved. Can I offer them 24% of what I received? Because if HSBC awarded me £5000 and then stated I had an outstanding debt of £5000 therefore received nothing, would i still have a bill of £1300 to pay. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Hk

Sorry, the simple answer is yes.

Do you have the contract between you and allay ? There will be a part in there about redress that is used to repay remaining debt owed on the account the claim was a against. You still have had the benefit of the £2k as you now have no debt to pay.

Do you agree with HSBC that a debt was still owed on the account that they have used part of the redress to settle ?
