  • PPI FEES

Hi I was wandering whatthe law is in relation to the fees charged by claim agents.I claimed through JPS, a few weeks ago I was sent a letter from the company I was claiming, they told me the claim hadnt been upheld, so i wasnt getting anything. JPS had failed in claiming back any PPI. I then contacted the Financial ombudsman, I sent all paper work on my own. The financial ombudsman came back telling me they had upheld my claim. Do I still need to pay JPS the ridiculous fees they are asking (24%), I feel I had to do more paperwork with lots of correspondance to the Financial Ombudsman.

    From their terms

2.9 In the event that we are unable to obtain financial redress on your behalf from a creditor, no fees will be payable from you to us in relation to the applicable claim, subject to any applicable cancellation fees set out in clause 6.

I'd say that they were unable to obtain financial redress on your behalf. Do you have a copy of the letter telling you that they had failed? You might have a problem with that letter was from the lender rather than from JPS.
