Barclays Rejection Letter For Bank Charges

My friends daughter received this letter from Barclays this morning 29/12/09 rejecting her claim for bank charges.

Her case did not go to court and she would like to know what to do next, ie can the HSBC letter be used or will there be a different worded letter for each bank.

Yes a similar letter to the HSBC letter - it needs to have specifics for Barclays in (ie their terms and conditions and letter wording) and also she needs to outline some examples of where she feels the charges were imposed unfairly (so for example if she made a transaction that was worth less than the charge imposed and they bounced it, but charged the fee - that doesnt really demonstrate much consideration ---- also things like order of transactions being altered to gain the largest number of fees (so look for places in statements with multiple fees) has she tried to request an overdraft extension but been refused, then they have paid stuff anyway and charged her for it. etc.

Also include any other issues she has - ie financial difficulty etc.

I'm working on a BASIS for each bank with the T&C's etc but from now on cases are going to be extremely personallised and individual and its not going to be a matter of a templated response.
