Re: Hardship - Individual Banks Requirements & Who to contact

Had a reply from Halifax after filling in my I & E and returning documentation on 9th August, they have sent a reply saying they will refund the charges from the time the received notification of financial dificulty ie August to Sept total charges £170.
They will not consider any period befor my notification even though they have evidence of hardship. Is this correct?
If they did consider my claim from the evidence befor it would be £1,113.

I don't really understand why they have done that? Anyone else know?

What exactly other than an IE have you sent them so far?

What you need to argue is lifestyle issue ie unemployment, loss of hours, separation from a partner lead to less income going through your account leading to charges which had an impact on your ability to pay priority creditors(mortgage.rent, council tax, utilities).
Can I ask what documentation you sent to them?
        What happened in August?
As Mocha says, it doesn't make sense at the moment which means it might be difficult to advise how to take this further...

          Re: Iggots and Halifax hardship

Hi this is I think what they have done with my case etc as well. They have offered £28 for a default in August of this year but ignored all charges that were at £3K Plus in 2007. I dont understand this either, is it a new tactic?

No but if £28.00 is the only charges since 2007 then I would agree with what they have done under financial hardship.

              Re: Iggots and Halifax hardship

In my case I have had more than one charge since 2007. A quick look I have at least four charges so the one charge thingy doesnt apply to me.

Another insulting offer from HBOS - Legal Beagles has had the same too (offer of one months worth of charges)
