  • Thriftkitten V Natwest Financial hardship claim

I have been advised to post here for any additional help and advice regarding claiming back any bank charges under the Financial Hardship avenue.
After sending a SAR to Natwest they returned my cheque and asked me for a letter with my signature so they could verify me and proceed, The SAR had my signature as did the 10.00 cheque, however a lady called Lyn Kirkland is handling it and I have a reference number to quote each and everytime I contact them along with an address so I guess that better than nothing, will have to wait for a list of charges as its a SETTLED closed defaulted account.
Could you please advise me whatelse I should enclose with the next letter requesting claiming back the total of charges under the financial hardship avenue, here is what I will include please let me know if I should include anythingelse.
1, Letter stating that I want to reclaim back provided bank charges under the Financial Hardship route
    2, Proof of charges
    3,Proof of means tested benefit
4,Proof of debts and collectors notifications
5,Income and expenditure form showing deficit per month

Anythingelse please that I may be unaware of.

They need to provide you with all the information they hold on you, not simply a list of charges.

Hello Thrftkitten and welcome to the dogpack!
That lady was the same one who signed my letters, and eventually my claim was successful - read my thread for details. Finally, though, it was quite a different lady who was most helpful.

Thanks Arunadesi, and congrats on your success, I have just finished reading your claim progression and feel inspired.
Im hoping to find someone to email my income and expenditure sheet to and have them check it over before I sent off my full Financial Hardship claim back to them, I feel quite excited about getting a cheque back off them as it is an old closed account and so they will not be able to put it into my account in order to clear the overdraft as I have already struggled to do so, I am also requesting that they remove the default they placed on the account as I struggled like hell to repay their unlawful charges and they still defaulted it... will keep posting and let you know how I got on, Please could you send me the number that "Strugglingmum" gave you in order to call and see how the claim is progressing.
        Thanks.
