    Hi Fredsat

You can still carry on with your claim for credit cards, they are not being stayed at court.

Have you started a claim ?

        Re: Hardship claims

First of all you need to work out how many charges you have for each credit card and the date they were applied. There is a calculator on the site that you can use if you go to the Library and click on spreadsheets. You need to decide if you want to claim compound interest or not. That is for you to decide.

        This is your first step.

        Hope it helps

          Hi Fredsat

You might like to start a thread for each credit card and bank, and don't worry we are a friendly bunch and will give you as much help and advice as you need, to get you back on your feet.

You might like to start with the credit cards make a list of who they are if they are still with the original creditor or in the hands of debt collection agencies.

here is a letter to send to Robinson Way for telephone harassment
          Legal Beagles

Another piece of advise is don't talk to them on the phone, everything to be in writing, we have all been there scared to answer the phone don't worry you will feel so much better once you start taking control of the situation.

Any questions just ask and someone will help you

              Re: Hardship claims

Yes list all your Late and Overamount fees, do a seperate list for each card.

Then you will send a first letter to each card company asking them to repay it, with you list attached.

In the Library there is a letter 'preliminary letter for repayment - credit cards'

Once you have got your lists we'll be able to help you with the spreadsheets.

                    Re: Harassment by Telephone
                    Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls.
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only, and that the telephone numbers listed above be completely removed form your systems.
This is a private telephone operated on a contract with the intention of receiving and making personal phone calls. I have not authorised other member of my family to receive calls from your organisation using this private telephone. By using this telephone number with out my permission you are interfering with my ability to use my own private property for the duration of the call.
It is my right to require that this telephone that is licensed solely to myself is kept clear for my own private call.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that all telephone calls from your company are recorded

                    Yours faithfully,

The Halifax have been in bother for this type of harassment more than once. You should log all the calls they make to you and then report them.
