            Just a quick update after some digging
            Think it's a mistake on the P11D box 15 filled in and we think it's for the whole tax year 2014/2015 even though he changed his employment so querying with HMRC at the minute

              Hello winner,
              The P11D does it show detail up until he changed jobs, I had an idea that it would but it would still be state and income from that employer for 2014/5.

                    it's all a bit confusing but he had a loan from his employer for a car it's just the way they did it 2200 was fuel 3100 was depreciation plus maintenance under value insurance etc all amounting to about 6500 just for 5 months

                          I do know from one of my colleagues who had a Merc supplied in a similar way via his employer that £1300 pcm is around the right level.

                            that won't work then looks like we will have to pay up any idea how to get a decent repayment through DMB at hmrc they are not helpful

                              So the car " loan " has been taxed aa a benefit in kind over the 5 months? What level of tax was he on.
