  • Still paying the mortgage

My ex left me 2 years back. I have been paying the mortgage on my own from then on. He is not willing to resign it and I find it very difficult to pay the mortgage as it has got high-interest rollover. I am thinking about filing bankruptcy proposal ( link removed ) . If I go bankrupt, am I liable for any debt if he sold the house or goes bankrupt himself?

We owe $90000 a real estate agent gave me a rough estimate to resell the house of $40,000. I am forced to move on the base as I am working in the military. I cannot pay the mortgage as I will have to pay rent for housing on base. What do you think?

Unfortunately this is. U.K. based forum and mortgages and bankruptcy legalities and procedures are very different here so you're unlikely to get accurate advice.

If the mortgage investor that originated your loan goes bankrupt, your mortgage has a price and is purchased by another investor or capitalist within the secondary market. The secondary market is wherever previously-issued mortgage loans are bought and sold.
