    I was issued a ccj in July 2014 it's on my credit file says its £600 and today lowell sent me a letter saying they could send baylifts I no if I wait a year it will be 6 years no contact as I never knew about this debt the fact I have a ccj already for it theres nothing they can do can they can it go any higher if they send baylifts round? 600 is allot of money I really dont want to pay it I dont even remember having a vodaphone mobile

    Yes, if it goes to bailiffs it will rise quite quickly, there's the warrant fee, then a letter fee, then a visit fee, the overall debt could easily hit £1k to pay if you do nothing.

    Did you know about the judgment before today ?

    You can look into either applying to set aside ( although if you succeed then lose the CCJ gets reapplied so will bugger you up for another 6 years rather than the 1 year you have till it comes off the register so it's a risk, costs £255 to start with, and if you then find out you did have a Vodafone account debt you'd have to pay it in full to stop the CCJ being reapplied) - OR you can negotiate monthly installments directly with Lowell.... or apply to the court to redetermine the payments to an affordable monthly installment ( form N245 ).
