First of all I'd like to say hi.
im currently a serving soldier away on your, my wife tonight rang me extremely upset as a company called Lowell's had written a letter saying I owed £138.79 for a debt they brought from orange.
A few months back I had a letter from a company called Red something or another stating I owed the same amount for the same debt. I rang Orange and they confirmed I owed nothing and it must have been a mis sold debt. The spoke to Red and it was all agreed and any debts cancelled.
Now I have received a letter in the post from another firm Lowell's demanding payment in seven days. I told my wife to call them on my behalf as I'm not using a satellite phone to call them. She asked they put on hold and proceedings until I was back in 3-4 weeks. The little scrotum on the phone told her it's not their problem. Etc etc.
Iv sent a mature structured email to them stating the facts and requesting any further information they have.
But im worried this is going to be a thorn in my side for a bit .
What on earth can I do? I'm at my wits end now, and finding it hard to remain rational.
Just a few points, I'm still a Orange EE customer, so there is no way of me not knowing about a debt.
Iv never had any letters from Orange previously both times of agencies writing to me
is there anything I can do to stop these guys blackening my credit score?
Cheers,
Craig
