  • Mackenzie Hall and MotorMile Finance

    Hello.

I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me.

My partner and I took out a payday loan in 2012. it was in my partner's name. We were paying the company back directly until one or two payments defaulted and they handed us over to Mackenzie Hall. At first, We had a few issues with them, not understanding our situation etc etc. (We both lost our jobs and fell into some financial trouble) I then started working again soon after, and they were happy to agree to a payment plan. Everything was going well, apart from one or two occasions where they payments were not taken. Mackenzie Hall were happy to re set the payment plans, and ever since whenever I have spoken to them they have been very understanding and helpful. We have been paying them for a while now, and everything was fine.

We then got a text message from MotorMile Finance, saying that they need to speak to us regarding an outstanding Balance.
We had no idea what this was about so we called them. They advised us that it was regarding the payday loan, I told the man I was speaking to that we were dealing with MAckenzie Hall in relation to this and he said that they (MH) had sold the debt over to them.

The amount he said that was outstanding was wrong, as I have the letters still from MH Stating the amount and they payment arrangements etc. I said to the man from MMF that the amount he was saying was wrong and he said to me that we have only paid £15 off! I said to him that I know for a fact that we have paid well over £300 off! And he would not even listen, he just said No, you have only paid off £15. I clearly wasn't getting anywhere with him so I hung up the phone.

I then called back a few hours later and the man I spoke to then, was a little better. I asked him if I could send them proof that the amount on their systems is wrong (By proof I mean Copies of the letters from MH and bank statements). He said yes that is fine, once we have the proof we can amend the amount you need to pay....

Now After all this, I found this site... And now I am deeply concerned about my personal information that I am about to send them (The payments have been coming out of my account)
Not only that, Mackenzie Hall had NO reason to sell the account as we were doing well with the payments and haven't missed a payment in over 9 months now..
I tried calling MAckenzie Hall on Saturday, and they were closed, even though the voice message said that they were open?????

    Very confused and very concerned.....

    Can anybody help?

    Thanks

Re: Mackenzie Hall and MotorMile Finance

MH do send debts over to motormile, however I would definitely give MH a call today and find out the exact situation, if they have passed you over to MMF ask them to confirm in writing your account balance, and payments made, to both yourself and to MMF.

I agree with you on not sending your bank statements to MMF.
