    Yep!

You need to find out when (or if) the debt was terminated.

The easiest way would be a CCA request.

Have you ever received a Notice of Assignment ('Goodbye from the original creditor/hello from the new owner of the debt)?

      .
I requested a copy of the agreement in 2007, but not since
Am I obliged to open these letters as they are sent to my works address?

        Ok
So if you do not open the letters how can you know what they contain. They could be an official court claim and you could end up with a CCJ.
A CCA request should give you a copy of the original agreement, T&C's at inception and at termination as well as a statement of account. If they can not produce the original then they can produce a recon but they should tell you it is a recon.

If you SAR the OC you should get everything they have although that takes up to 40 days.
My fear for you is that they are issuing papers to your original address .
Personally I think you should deal with this head on, either a CCA request or a sold in dispute letter to the DCA and maybe a SAR to the OC

As I said before this is just my opinion based on personal experience in dealing with my own debts

When the first one came, it was handed to me as an important letter I should read. They send me a letter every day without fail, offering a discount if I should pay, or asking me to contact to resolve the debt. The letters are all exactly the same visually so I now know when they come in the post. They say in their letter " according to the Credit Bureau Information we have been advised that you are still residing at the above address"

Cross examination? I'm already in the dock? or do you mean ' your response'?

Your not in the dock, but there are so many threads on here where the OPs omit important details or forget what they have written ,i read the threads as if i was acting for the other side its a view that sholud be taken in order to clarify the situation,The letters are all no doubt on the same headed paoer its the wording that differs.i would say ignore them all and file them until a court claim comes then it must be defended

Any chance of posting up one of their letters?

                  Re: Help Please with DCA

I get letters all the time from various DCA's and can usually tell who they are from before I open them. The wording however changes from letter to letter and some of them warrant just filing and others warrant a reply
There are countless examples of people getting judgements by default because they did not open a letter or respond when they should have.

This really is not the time for arguments.
To be blunt it's head out of the sand time, open the letters and take the appropriate action. I have made suggestions based on the information supplied the rest is up to you

                          Hi
Glad you do open the letters, was something you said earlier that made me think you may not be.
While the letters are like that you could send either account in dispute, no doorstep visit letter or just ignore.
I would be inclined to send a combination of doorstep and account in dispute

                              Which one?

The Mick Jagger film, or the Martin Sherman play?

No Idea, just says according to Credit Bureau Information. I suspect they have gone on to Companies House and traced me as director
