You told them the debt was SB, but they persisted with their demands. They even seem to have "found" (or invented) one or more payments made in 2009, then unwisely averred that the payment(s) would have revived the statute barred cause of action.

They may also have registered a default with one or more of the three credit reference agencies, which you will need them to remove.

They have certainly caused needless upset and obliged you to correspond with them more than should have been necessary.

Yes, I'd say they should pay you some compo...

I know of a case or two but each case does turn on its own facts.

                              Re: Lowell chasing me

                              http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...e-Barred-debts
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
