Evening All
I am after some advice regarding Optima legal. A client has an agreement with them and owes £22,265 on a car she bought. Since then she has lost her job, has one year old twins, another on the way and her partner has gone!!!!!!!
The upshot is she offered them £20000 to settle the finance by selling the car privately. They rejected the offer.
I spoke to them on the phone with her authority and they told me the offer was rejected because they could get more at auction. I asked what happens if they only got £17000. Their reply you can guess.
I asked them to speak to Alphera finance who the original agreement was with, who stuck with the, 'we rejected the offer as we believe at auction blah blah".
I get a phone call this evening saying they can no longer discuss this with me as they have to have written authority. The verbal authority has expired, but an e-mail authority would be acceptable.
To me it all seems like stalling and BS. Can anyone give me a pointer as to my next move. I was going to write and quote a few pieces of the OFT and CCA.
As a newbie at this, I mainly help with the mental health cases and that is covered very well, I just need a bit of advice from more seasoned beagles.

It could be relevant if you are asking this site to provide you with *advice* which you will then pass on. Does your client have mental health issues which you say is your main interest?
