Its not quite that simple. Its a good pointer that once they start offering ''special discounts'' and '' special personal letters from the MD'' that perhaps they are not holding a very strong hand with which to play. If they sell it on to someone lower down the DCA foodchain thats another good pointer that they may not have an enforceable agreement. You have to ask yourself if they were so sure they could go to court and winthen why dont thy just enforce all the time especially if there is a substantial amount of money involved.

As Capquest got it off a bank and now have someone else acting on there behalf and I have never once responded maybe Its now on the merry go round

Update: had a letter the other day from Mackenzie hall basically trying to chase the person for this alledged debt so I'm guessing Capquest have now sold it on it also says (I'm guessing for the benefit if someone else opened the letter who it wasn't addressed to) to contact them if they have any info on persons whereabouts. Thoughts anyone?

Bit like Vanquis sent letter here stating:- contents of the letter if you are not Mr x xxxxxxx then we apologise as you may have just moved into this address and the contents not for you, tut tut tut other people can see that you are chasing a named person and advocating that they read full contents of letter. addressed to somebody else, followed by answer machine message contact us.

Ask them how much they are prepared to pay for information about the person named on there letter

If they reply, tell them they've not offered enough and that you refuse to deal with cheapskates.
