    Re: Need help with Lowell

The Leeds Losers trading as Lowell like most DCAs are under the misapprehension that its up to you to prove you dont owe them the money. In actual fact the reverse is true in that they must PROVE

    1. A debt exists
    2. They have a legal right to collect it
    3. That you are the person who actually owes it.

Because of their arrogance The Leeds Losers are one of the easiest DCAs to deal with. This alleged debt will get passed round all the desks in the Leeds Threat centre before they pass it on to the bottom feeders Mucky Hall aka Mackenzie Hall.

So if you get letters fron the specialised Red Debt or the laughingly named Hampton Legal just remember that these are just the same $hit on different notepaper posted out by the threatomatic machine and are as useless as the previous ones

New to this wonderful site, everyone seems so helpful and friendly, more than I can say for Lowells and such like.

      Need some help:

Lowell chasing me for a huge debt.

However I have a few letters from a different DCA that was chasing this debt from a few years back stating a completely different balance which is much lower. Have advise Lowells of this and they want me to prove this by sending them copies of the letters, do I have to send them copies. I feel CL Finance and Lowells should do their own dectective work. I am prepared to take copies of these letters if they commence court action which they have threatened.

This account was also unlawfully terminated as default notice did not allow full 14 days.

Lowells also sending me letters from both Lowell Financial and Lowell Portfolio both stating different things in their letters, is this allowed.

Please can spomebody help me with some advice.

      Many thanks
      Worried Sick2
      Lowell Portfolio 1 is the debt buyer;
      Lowell Financial Limited, the collector.

Both companies are part of the same group: The Lowell Group
Commonly referred to as the LEEDS LOSERS!

In one of your posts, I notice the FOS made an award in your favour. Would I be correct in assuming this was the Financial Ombudsman Service? Is this is so, what on earth are Lowells doing trying to extort money from you if FOS ruled in your favour?

I note you have reported this to the OFT. Good. Their Consumer Credit Licensing Department is responsible for investigating DCAs who step out of line.

Can I suggest you go to the OFT website and download a copy of their up to date "Debt Collection Guidelines" document which all DCAs are required to comply with? I have found that having this with me when I telephone DCAs on behalf of other people and quoting from it tends to make them nervous as they quickly realise you have done your homework and can catch them out. DCAs may not like it, but it does get the message across that they can't get away with sharp practices and those they target have the ammunition to use against them if the OFT have to become involved.

Don't feel you are on your own. All of us want to see a successful outcome for you.
