  • Lowells and Shop Direct

    Hi all
I received today a letter from lowells saying Shop Direct have sold my debt to them and the account was legally assigned on the 1/07/11
I have tried to rearrange payments with Shop Direct as per DMP they refused I then sent CCA request which they only sent current t&cs so I put the account in dispute in March of this year and have not paid them since
I know they still want their money but if its in dispute can they still sell it on and what is the best thing to do loads of interest and charges have been added too

More fool the Leeds loonies for having bought a debt which, until and unless the OC complies with the CCA request, will remain unenforceable.

Of course, that won't stop Lowells trying to bother you into paying them, but look on the bright side - now you're no longer buying clothes from Shop Direct, you can buy better for less elsewhere!

No - send them a letter and a £1 postal order in the usual way, requesting a copy of the credit agreement.

You could just write to the Leeds losers to tell them that S*** Direct has failed to produce even a compliant agreement cobbled together from whatever was lying about in the office and that, until either they or Lowells does produce such an agreement, the alleged debt will remain unenforceable.

Do not sign the letter with your real signature, as DCAs have been known to "get creative" by scanning, cutting and pasting genuine signatures.

Typical of how the rotten system works in this country.
Companies just sell on debts to any sewer DCA like Lowells who then dont have any power to any money off you & wont take you anywhere near a court.
Report them to the OFT & trading standards if they refuse to leave you alone.

                  Hi
Putting a letter togeather with regard to my debt been sold whilst in dispute I have been reading Curlys thread on templates to send and tweeking them to suit
My question is though if they continue to send demand for payment letters and ignore my account in dispute who are the best to complain to as per usual DCA are a nightmare

                    Send the letter first.

If they continue to be a nuisance, we can help you to deal with them.

With the DCA's getting creaive with sigs isis worth creating waterarks underneath the sigs . easily done in word I understand . Probabally best have the watermark saying todays datee and DA request .

                        Re: Lowells and Shop Direct

Adding a "watermark" might present a problem, especially if some part(s) of the watermark matched the colour of the ink used to sign the letter, but using a handwriting font (such as Lyrics Movement - link) would probably be safer still. They can edit that, pixel by pixel, and they'd still not get one's real signature.

Knowing Lowells they will simply wash their hands of it & pass onto someone else - or give to Red or Hamptons (next desks along from Lowells)
